How It Works

1. Choose Your Shed Style

View our shed styles to find the right fit for your property. From our popular A-frame Ranchers to our spacious Lofted Dutch sheds, we have the perfect solution to your storage needs.

2. Select your shed size

To determine the proper shed size for your new building, we suggest visiting one of our lots to view typical sizes. Popular sizes include 10’x12′, 10’x16′, 12’x16′, 12’x24′, 12’x28′, and 12’x40′. However, we can build anything from an 8’x8′ to a 16’x40′!

3. Pick your add-ons

Choose from our variety of doors, windows, storage, and other options. Our sheds do not come with any default options, allowing you to choose only the options that you want.

4. Create a floor plan

Work with one of our dealers to design the floor plan for your shed. Our representatives can also suggest popular color, add-on, and layout combinations to create a shed that you will enjoy for years.

5. Complete the purchase

For purchases, a 10% deposit is required at the time of the sale, with the remaining balance due at delivery. The rent-to-own option requires a small deposit based on the size of the shed.

6. Schedule the Delivery

Our local shop will build your custom shed according to the specifications given. Once the shed is completed, a Better Built Sheds representative will contact you to schedule the installation.

7. Enjoy your new shed

Our driver will deliver and properly set up your new building- no need to get dirty! After the shed is delivered, it is move-in ready, and you can start using it the same day.

Custom Build Shed FAQs

Are there any additional fees to purchase a custom-built shed versus an on-lot shed?

No, there are no additional fees charged when purchasing a custom shed instead of buying an inventory shed at a dealer. All option costs and base prices stay the same!

Can I purchase a custom shed on Rent-To-Own?

Absolutely! Custom sheds are commonly purchased on rent-to-own terms.

Do you offer custom door sizes?

We are always happy to discuss custom barn door sizes! Custom doors may be taller or wider/narrower than our typical doors. There are limitations for custom doors based on size and structural integrity. Contact one of our dealers for more information and a quote on a custom-sized barn door.

At this time, Better Built Sheds does not offer custom house door installation, but we are happy to frame the door opening for you to self-install the desired door. See below for more information.

Do you install custom house doors or windows?

While we do not install custom windows or doors, we can leave a custom-sized opening framed for you to self-install the window or door of your choice. Custom quotes for rough openings may take 1-3 business days. Contact a dealer to start the quote process!

Can you paint the shed one of the colors not listed on your color card?

Better Built Sheds offers 19 paint colors to match most landscaping and homes. However, we are happy to paint the shed any color you wish. There is no additional charge for this service. You will need to independently purchase and deliver the required quantity of outdoor paint to a Better Built Sheds lot. This option may delay the build time by up to 3 weeks.

Does the shed have to be painted or can it be left unpainted?

Yes, we can most certainly leave the shed unpainted upon request! There will be no change in price compared to a painted building.

Will you insulate a shed?

Generally, we do not offer insulation installation. However, there may be exceptions, depending on the type of insulation and style of shed. Reach out to our corporate office for more information!

Can you build a wall inside a shed?

We can install a wall in the shed upon request. Generally, these walls are made out of OSB and 2x4s. Please contact a dealer for a custom quote! Wall quotes may take 1-3 business days.

After getting no response from the 6 contractors I left messages for, to get a quote on building a garage. I decide to go the their office in Prospect. Angelia help me design a shed that will work as storage and as a shop for me. She was very helpful and walked me through the process. I ordered a 14’X34’ shed with a roll up garage door on one end and a 4’ porch and door on the other. She told me it would be two to three weeks to be built and delivered. Two and half weeks later, I had my shed. Matt and his crew delivered it and it leveled in no time. Great job Better Built Sheds.
